We started this after a flood in our own home.

One night, a toilet float valve in Shadi's house failed. Within 30 minutes she woke to the sound of water pouring down to the first floor — by then, the damage was done. We're a team. We've been there. We built Silviri so other people don't have to be.

What we're trying to do

Reduce the frequency, severity, and out-of-hours load of water damage events.

"Water damage is the most expensive problem in multifamily real estate that nobody talks about. We're trying to make it the easiest one to solve."

Why we built this

Most water damage costs are invisible until they hit your books.

Water is the #1 reason insurance claims get filed on apartment buildings. But here's what nobody tells you: most of those claims fall below your deductible. So your insurer pays nothing. You pay everything. Over and over.

We've watched friends and family eat $20K, $40K bills out of pocket because nobody saw a leak for 12 hours, 24 hours, three days. Every one of those events was preventable — the technology has existed for years. It just wasn't built for apartment buildings. It was built for single-family homes and shoehorned in.

So we built it the right way. From the radio choice to the dashboard layout, every decision in Silviri was made specifically for multifamily buildings of more than 20 units — a segment that's typically been served with adapted single-family hardware.

Shadi Nassirirad
Co-Founder & CEO

Shadi started this after a flood in her own home. A single failed valve. By the time anyone noticed, weeks of disruption and a repair bill that kept growing. She kept thinking: every apartment owner she knew had a version of this story, only multiplied across hundreds of units, paid quietly under the deductible every year. So she went looking for someone to help her build something better. She asked Farbod. Today, Shadi runs Silviri — making sure that when you call, someone who actually cares picks up.

FB
Farbod Behbahani, Ph.D.
Co-Founder & CTO

Farbod has spent 27 years building wireless systems for places where the radio absolutely cannot drop the signal — military, infrastructure, industrial. He runs SaberTek Inc., a chip design company with dozens of IoT products in the field. When Shadi brought him the problem, he pushed back on every shortcut other vendors had taken: no, we won't use WiFi (it doesn't survive in apartment buildings), no, we won't use proprietary radio (it locks customers in), no, we won't ship a consumer leak detector with a B2B label. He architected Silviri the way you'd build hardware for a building you actually own.
